Coronavirus Update

As the summer approaches it is easy to become antsy for outdoor activities. With the sun staying out longer and the temperatures rising, it is a natural feeling. Usually this is a time for celebration, but this year is a little different. The Coronavirus pandemic is weighing on everybody. It has fundamentally changed the way that we live and interact with those around us.

Our hearts go out to the people and the families that have been directly affected by the virus. Furthermore, we cannot possibly put into words how grateful we are to our healthcare workers, grocers, restaurant owners, mail carriers, truck drivers, pharmacists, and all other essential workers who are putting their lives on the line right now for each and every one of us. In addition, we want to share our empathy to all other small business owners and employees who have been forced to shut down, or have lost work, during this time. We too have felt the strain on our business as we navigate this uncertain road.

Our Duty:

As the curve starts to flatten, and talks of reopening begin, we want to share how we will continue to create a safe environment for those looking to recreate. First off, we have, and will continue, to comply with all federal, state, and local mandates regarding the Coronavirus. We believe it is imperative to the safety of others that all people follow these orders.

Secondly, once we are able to reopen we will ensure that our staff are supplied with the proper PPE and are educated on all social distancing guidelines. As a small business we have an equally small staff. Thus, we will monitor and be certain that our staff are being as safe as possible for themselves and for you, our valued customers.

Finally, as we get closer to reopening we will discuss and figure out solutions for your personal safety. This includes having gloves on hand for you to use on our bikes and kayaks, ensuring all equipment gets sprayed or wiped down between each use, managing the flow of people in and out of our shops, and managing tour sizes. We understand that this is a fluid situation and we will continue to make changes to our policies as we find out new information.

Bookings & Reservations:

As of now, we are taking bookings and reservations for campsites, glampsites, kayak reservations, and electric bike reservations starting after May 4th (we are aware that this date may change in the coming weeks and we will update as we know more information). For those who have already booked, your reservations stand as long as they are after this May 4th date. If this date changes, any reservation that falls under the new guidelines will be rebooked or fully refunded at no cost to you.

We encourage those who are wanting to make a reservation with us to do so. We believe that getting outside and exercising are two of the best things for your physical and mental health, right now especially. We have updated our policy on refunds for cancelled reservations to be sensitive to the current situation. We understand that booking anything right now can be very scary, but we want to put your mind at ease. For reservations made in advance, if you must cancel for any reason, we will refund you in full so long as you make that cancellation 24 hours prior to your reservation time.

If locking in a date for your reservation is still too uncertain, we also have gift cards for sale which you can find at the link below. These gift cards can be redeemed at any time, for any kayak or electric bike tour or reservation. As a small business, we are struggling at this time and your help in keeping us running is appreciated even more than usual.

We want to make sure that, once this is behind us, time spent outside continues to be a safe haven for those who rely on it for their health and wellness. We are wistful for the days when we could safely spend time in nature and we are sure that those days will soon come again. This will only happen if we all band together and work as a community to keep each other safe and healthy. Thank you again Vashon for being a community of people who care and help out those in need.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay adventurous
