Getting here is part of your adventure!
Vashon Island
Vashon Island is only accessible by boat or plane. We are just a short ferry ride from Seattle or Tacoma and from Southworth on the Kitsap Peninsula.
Pedestrians, cars and bicycles can use the Washington State Ferries.
From West Seattle: Fauntleroy-to-Vashon Route
From Tacoma: Pt Defiance-to-Tahlequah Route
From Kitsap Peninsula: Southworth-to-Vashon Route
WARNING: Summer ferry lines are LONG! Make sure to get in line for your desired boat 45 minutes to an hour before its scheduled departure time. You only need to purchase tickets at your departure terminal, your return trip is free!
DOWNTOWN SEATTLE: Monday through Friday, pedestrians and bicycles can also come directly from downtown Seattle during commuter hours on the King County Water Taxi. Exciting news- the water taxi will have additional sailings starting in July for the summer!
If you prefer to come on foot, the King County Metro bus routes run up and down Vashon Island (routes 118 & 119).
Schedule a ride with Vashon Rides: Call or text Jana at 206-228-9046 (Uber, Lyft & Venmo).
If you are waiting for a ferry, shuttle or for the bus, stop by The Mermaid Market for a delicious treat and cup of something tasty.
